比如 (bǐ rú) For example
Another word we can create with 如 (rú) is 比如 (bǐ rú). This means ‘for example’. Let’s again look at each character of this word, 比 means compare and 如means as. A way of using it in a sentence is 我有很多爱好，比如画画和弹钢琴。(Wǒ yǒu hěnduō àihào, bǐrú huà huà hé tán gāngqín.) I have a lot of hobbies. For example, drawing and playing the piano.
如今 (rú jīn) Now
Finally, we can create the word 如今 (rú jīn) which means ‘now’. 如今 is a formal way of saying now. A way of using it in a sentence is 如果没有家人的支持，我不知道我如今会在哪里。(Rúguǒ méiyǒu jiārén de zhīchí, wǒ bù zhīdào wǒ rújīn huì zài nǎlǐ.) Without the support of my family, I don't know where I would be now.
